Abide Learning Co. ("we," "us," "our") provides live online tutoring for K–8 students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Parent/guardian contact info: name, email address, phone number.
- Student info: first name, grade level, and any learning notes you choose to share so we can tutor effectively.
- Booking & payment info: sessions scheduled, credit balances, and order history. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
- Account info: authentication identifiers required to sign in to your account.
- Basic technical info: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used to keep the site working and secure.
How we use information
- To schedule, confirm, and deliver tutoring sessions.
- To send transactional messages — booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and receipts — by email and SMS.
- To process payments and maintain account history.
- To respond to questions and provide customer support.
- To keep our site secure and improve our services.
SMS / text messaging
When you opt in on our booking form, we send transactional SMS messages related to your bookings (confirmations, reminders, and updates) to the phone number you provide. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your account or scheduled sessions. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the service, including:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Twilio — SMS delivery.
- Resend — email delivery.
- Google — calendar invitations and Google Meet video links for sessions.
- Supabase — database, authentication, and application hosting infrastructure.
We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
Children's privacy
Our service is purchased by parents and guardians for the benefit of their children. Students under 13 do not create their own accounts. Any student information we hold is provided by the parent or guardian and used only to deliver tutoring services. Parents may request access, correction, or deletion of their child's information at any time by emailing us.
Data retention
We retain account and booking records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account at any time.
Your choices
- Update your account info from your account dashboard.
- Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any text.
- Request access, correction, or deletion of your information by contacting us.
