Abide Learning Co. ("we," "us," "our") provides live online tutoring for K–6 students. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using our website or services, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Parent/guardian contact info: name, email address, phone number.
Student info: first name, grade level, and any learning notes you choose to share so we can tutor effectively.
Booking & payment info: sessions scheduled, credit balances, and order history. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not store full card numbers.
Account info: authentication identifiers required to sign in to your account.
Basic technical info: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) used to keep the site working and secure.

How we use information

To schedule, confirm, and deliver tutoring sessions.
To send transactional messages, booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, and receipts, by email and SMS.
To process payments and maintain account history.
To respond to questions and provide customer support.
To keep our site secure and improve our services.

SMS / text messaging

When you opt in on our booking form, we send transactional SMS messages related to your bookings (confirmations, reminders, and updates) to the phone number you provide. Message frequency varies based on your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Opting out of SMS does not cancel your account or scheduled sessions. We do not sell or share your mobile number or SMS opt-in data with third parties for their marketing.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us run the service, including:

Stripe, payment processing.
Twilio, SMS delivery.
Resend, email delivery.
Google, calendar invitations and Google Meet video links for sessions.
Supabase, database, authentication, and application hosting infrastructure.
LiveKit, real-time audio, video, and whiteboard connectivity during live tutoring sessions.
Cloudflare, application delivery, hosting, and security.

We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

Children's privacy

Our service is purchased by parents and guardians for the benefit of their children. Students under 13 do not create their own accounts. Consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we collect a child's information only with verifiable parental consent, which we obtain from the parent or guardian at booking and record with a timestamp.

The child information we hold is limited to what the parent provides and what is needed to deliver tutoring: the student's name and grade, the work they create on the shared whiteboard (saved so the parent and tutor can review progress), and a private audio recording of live sessions used only to generate the written session recap and then deleted. Live video is never recorded. We do not require a child to disclose more than is reasonably necessary, and we do not sell or use children's information for advertising.

Parents can review and delete their child's saved work at any time from their account dashboard, and may request access, correction, or deletion of any other child information, or withdraw consent, by emailing us, in which case we will stop collecting the child's information and delete what we hold.

Data retention

We retain account and booking records for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. A child's saved whiteboard work is kept until a parent deletes it (self-serve from the account dashboard) or asks us to. You may request deletion of your account at any time.

Opt out of SMS by replying STOP to any text.
Request access, correction, or deletion of your information by contacting us.
