FAQ
Questions, answered plainly.
- What grades do you teach?
- Kindergarten through 8th grade. Every session is one-on-one and tailored to your student's level.
- What subjects can my child get help with?
- Math, reading, writing, and science across the K–8 range. We also help with test prep and specific homework projects.
- How do online sessions actually work?
- Sessions run by video on a private link sent in your confirmation email. Any device with a camera and internet works — laptop, Chromebook, iPad. We often use a digital whiteboard to work through problems together.
- What video platform do you use?
- Sessions are held over secure video conferencing (Zoom or Google Meet). The exact link is included in your confirmation email after booking.
- What do I need to provide?
- A device with a camera, a quiet space, and a stable internet connection. Headphones help. Bring whatever the student is working on — textbook, worksheet, or assignment.
- Does a parent need to be present?
- For younger students (K–2) we ask a parent to be nearby to help with the initial connection. Older students can usually run the session on their own.
- How does payment work?
- All payments are handled securely online when you book. Single sessions are paid up front; packages give you a balance to draw from; the monthly plan is auto-billed and can be canceled anytime.
- What if I need to reschedule?
- Just reply to your confirmation email at least 24 hours before your session and we'll move it. Last-minute cancellations may count as a used session.
- Where are you based?
- Lisa is based in Florida; sessions are live online so we work with families anywhere in the U.S.
- Is Abide Learning faith-based?
- Faith is the foundation for how the work is done — with care, patience, and respect — not a curriculum overlay. Families of any background are welcome.
